Rules first, then cover, then preferences
Some rules protect your staff, like approved leave and a weekly day off. The AI never breaks them, even if that leaves a shift empty.
Next, it puts enough people on each day. Preferences, like who likes evenings, come last. If they clash, getting the shift covered wins, and your rules win over both.
What the AI will never do
These rules always come first. If keeping one leaves a shift empty, the shift stays empty and CySlip tells you.

Some people work the same shifts every week. Others fit work around studies, school runs or a second job.
Staff with a fixed schedule get their shifts as soon as you open the week. The AI counts them, then fills the rest of the week with your flexible staff.
Write rules the way you would say them
Type a note like "Maria prefers evenings on weekdays". CySlip turns it into a rule you can check, and you choose how strict it is.
Nothing is used until you confirm it. If CySlip reads a note wrong, reject it and it never reaches your rota.

It tells you why
The AI explains its choices in plain words. If a shift is empty, it says why, for example when only one person can do that job. If it had to use a requested day off, it tells you who and which day.
Run it again with the same setup and you get the same rota, so nothing changes by chance. A second run only fills empty days, and you can undo a run in one click.

Questions
What is AI scheduling software?
It builds your staff rota for you. You tell it how many people you need, who does which job, and who is on leave. CySlip then drafts a full week in seconds. You check it, change what you want, and publish.
Is CySlip AI a chatbot? Can it make things up?
No. The rota is built by scheduling software that checks all your rules at once. It does not guess. The only part that reads text is the notes you type, such as "Maria prefers evenings", and you confirm each one before it is used. The same setup always gives the same rota.
Can I see why the AI made a choice?
Yes. After each run, CySlip tells you which shifts it could not fill and why, which requested days off it used, and who is below their hours. The same setup always gives the same rota, so if you change one rule, you can see exactly what that change did.
Can I edit a schedule the AI drafted?
Yes. Every shift is a draft you can move, change or delete. If you run the AI again, it only fills days that are still empty, so your changes stay. You can also undo a run, and any shift you edited is kept.
Does the AI respect annual leave and requested days off?
Approved leave, including an approved day off, is never scheduled. A day off that is still waiting for approval is avoided where possible. If the AI has to use it, it tells you who and which day before you publish. Holiday never counts as someone's weekly day off.
How does the AI decide who works the weekend?
It looks at the last six weeks. Someone who has worked more weekends is less likely to get the next one. Anyone who never works weekends is left off Saturday and Sunday.
Does it leave enough rest between shifts?
It tries to. By default it aims for 11 hours between shifts and no more than 6 days in a row, and you can change both. In a very busy week it may not manage it, so check the rota before you publish.
Can I mix fixed and flexible staff?
Yes. Staff with a fixed schedule get their shifts as soon as you open the week. The AI never moves them. It fills the rest of the week with your flexible staff.
What happens if it cannot fill every shift?
You still get a rota. CySlip tells you which shifts are missing someone, and why when it can, for example when only one person can do that job. It never breaks a rule to fill a gap.
