What is employee scheduling software?

Can I still edit the schedule by hand?
Yes. The draft lands on your grid and you drag, edit and delete before publishing. CySlip never publishes anything on its own.
Will the AI book someone on leave or give them two shifts in one day?
No. Approved leave removes the day from the draft, and one person gets at most one shift per day. Both are hard rules in the engine. The AI also never drops anyone below their minimum days off.
Does it check rest between shifts?
Yes. You set the minimum rest between one shift and the next, 11 hours by default, and the AI weighs it in every draft. It is weighed rather than fixed, because a hard rest rule can leave a shift nobody can fill. Check the draft for short turnarounds before you publish.
Can staff swap shifts?
Yes. A person drops a shift to the open pool, and only colleagues with the right role and no clash that day can claim it. You approve each claim before the schedule changes.
How do staff see their shifts?
In a browser on their phone, as soon as you publish. There is no app to install. They get an email on every plan, and an SMS as well on the Professional plan.
Does it handle more than one location?
Yes. Split staff into departments and each is scheduled independently inside one account. Pricing counts people, not departments.
