In Cyprus, the Data Protection Commissioner ordered a private hospital to stop clocking staff in by fingerprint and to delete the fingerprints, and the Administrative Court upheld that decision in 2017.

Weekly hours
No more than 48 hours a week on average.

Daily rest, weekly rest and paid annual leave.

Questions from Cyprus employers
What is a time attendance system?
It records when staff start and finish work. CySlip does it on a shared tablet or phone with a PIN, and puts each clock-in next to the shift on the rota.
Do I need to buy a clocking terminal?
No. Any phone, tablet or old laptop with a browser becomes a clock-in station, and every plan includes unlimited devices.
Can staff clock in from their own phones?
Not yet. Staff clock in on a shared device at work with their own PIN. On their own phone they see their shifts and request leave.
Does CySlip follow Cyprus working time law?
It helps you plan inside it. AI scheduling suggests a 48-hour weekly cap, never books approved leave, and keeps the weekly day off. You stay responsible for your obligations, so ask your accountant or lawyer about your own case.
Does CySlip run payroll or pay Social Insurance and GESY?
No. CySlip records working time. On Professional it also works out what those hours cost and exports a sheet your accountant or payroll provider works from. It does not file with Social Insurance Services or the Tax Department.
Is CySlip in Greek?
The app is in English. Our team in Cyprus helps you in Greek or English, and this page is also in Greek.
What does it cost?
Standard is €39 a month for scheduling and clock-ins. Professional is €59 a month at the launch price, normally €79, and adds pay calculations, overtime, exports and SMS. Both include 10 employees, then €4 or €5 a month per extra employee.
Do I need a card to start the free trial?
Yes. Checkout asks for a card, but nothing is charged for 14 days. Cancel before the trial ends and you pay nothing.

Does it handle the 13th salary?
A 13th salary is not required by Cyprus law, but it becomes binding if a contract, a collective agreement or established company practice provides for it. CySlip records hours and hourly or monthly pay. A 13th-month payment is handled in payroll, not here.
Does CySlip know Cyprus public holidays?
Not automatically. You add the dates, such as Easter Monday. On Professional you also set the rate paid on those days. Leave requests work on any date.
Can I run more than one branch?
Yes, if you set each branch up as a department. The rota groups staff by department. Separate locations are not a feature yet.
Where is my data kept?
In the EU, in Frankfurt. Our Privacy Policy sets out what we collect, why, and how long we keep it.
