Questions
What is a staff holiday booking system?
It is where staff request time off, managers approve it, and every balance is counted for you. In CySlip it is part of the rota, so approved leave is already off the schedule when you build the week.
Can employees request leave themselves?
Yes. They request from their own view, you approve or decline, and both of you keep a record. A manager can also add approved leave directly from the grid.
What happens to shifts when leave is approved?
The employee's shifts for those days go to the open pool, so a colleague can claim them rather than leaving them assigned to someone who is away. A half day keeps the shift, so you can still schedule the other half.
Is annual leave entitlement tracked?
Yes, per employee. Set an account-wide default, override it for individuals, and use pro rata for staff who joined part-way through the year.
Can staff book half days or sick leave?
Yes. A half day covers the first or second half of a day and counts as 0.5. Sick and other leave are recorded separately and never reduce the annual allowance.
Does CySlip stop two people booking the same days?
Not automatically. There is no cap on how many people can be off at once. Every approved holiday shows on the grid, so you see who else is away that week before you approve the next request.
Can I switch to CySlip in the middle of the leave year?
